I recently purchased the Milani eyeshadow RUNWAY EYES palette in Catwalk at my local CVS. I hadn’t tried Milani make- up before but I was intrigued by the colors so I figured that at $8.99, it wouldn’t be too much of a loss if it didn’t work out.

Luckily, there was no loss at all. This product is AMAZING! Seriously, I want to run out and buy every single color palette. The colors are super pigmented, like just as pigmented as MAC and also just as creamy and silky! They don’t crease too much and if you use an eyeshadow primer (I use Urban Decay Primer Potion), you won’t get any creasing at all. And seriously, for $8.99 for 6 colors, it can’t get any better than that.

These can be purchased at most drugstores and www.MilaniCosmetics.com

I was at first hesitant about COVERGIRL SMOKY SHADOW BLASTS, because smoky eyes are really pretty easy to do already, so I did not think that there was much of a point to this product. I bought it in BRONZE FIRE (second one from the left in the picture) and SILVER SKY (third one from the left in the picture). I first tried out the one in BRONZE FIRE. I first put Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath (it is important to put a primer underneath this product in particular because they are cream eyeshadows) and then, I just followed the directions on the box. BRONZE FIRE is gorgeous. It is not too light and not too dark and perfect for daytime. There is some shimmer to it but nothing overpowering. The wear on this was really good. It did fade a tiny bit by the end of the day but it was definitely still there. Plus, it is so easy to reapply that fading really is not an issue with this. The other color I purchased, SILVER SKY, is great for nighttime, and for those dramatic girls, it can definitely pass for daytime. It also has a little bit of shimmer. What I love about this color is that it is a variation on the silver smoky eye. Instead of just being a light silver and a dark one, COVERGIRL paired a gunmetal with a medium plum color, which is awesome! And this one is also great because you can also put the plum color, which COVERGIRL advises you put in your crease, on you lid and then put the gunmetal in your crease, since neither color is a darker shade than the other. Overall, I LOVE THESE, and I have been using them religiously. They’re so easy to apply and they are super creamy, which is a plus. And for $8.49, it can’t get much better than that.

My mother always comments how she loved her make up on her Wedding Day. She always said that she had her make up done by LAURA GELLER (www.LAURAGELLER.com), which I assumed meant that a make up artist that worked for LAURA GELLER did her makeup.  Recently, I have become more and more interested in makeup and spoke to my mother about her makeup look on her Wedding Day.  She once again said that LAURA GELLER did it and I said “You mean one of LAURA GELLER’s make up artists?” and she responded “No, the LAURA GELLER did my makeup.” I had always seen LAURA GELLER Makeup at Sephora but never actually looked at it.

I received some products from LAURA GELLER MAKEUP to try recently and I completely understand why my mother loved LAURA GELLER so much on her Wedding Day. The products are beautiful and really high quality. The packaging is really professional looking and sleek, which is great. Also, every compact has a mirror in it so they are perfect for travel.

I have used Smashbox Photo Finish Light for the past 2-3 years without a complaint. It is oil-free and my foundation stays on pretty well. Therefore I pretty much used the mantra “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” LAURA GELLER MAKEUP sent me their SPACKLE UNDER MAKE-UP PRIMER and I must admit I was hesitant to try it because I was worried it would break me out. I have combination skin and I do not break out a lot at all but I used to have a lot of acne like two years ago (I will write another post on how I got rid of that), so I am always scared that I will break out that much again. I have been using the SPACKLE UNDER MAKE-UP PRIMER for a few days and I am happy to say that I did not break out at all, in fact I prefer this over my Smashbox Photo Finish Light. SPACKLE UNDER MAKE-UP PRIMER is oil- free and really lightweight. It makes your foundation go on soo smoothly and it really makes your foundation last forever and look fresh all day. I really recommend this product. It is $25 for a 2 oz. bottle and the Smashbox Photo Finish Light is $36 for a 1 oz. bottle, so it is pretty obvious which one is a better deal. Not only is the LAURA GELLER SPACKLE UNDER MAKE-UP PRIMER easier on your wallet, it is also a better product overall. This is definitely my go-to face primer from now on.

Another great LAURA GELLER product that I got is the ETHEREAL BALANCE. ETHEREAL BALANCE is a split compact, as you can see in the picture above. The right side is the BALANCE-n-BRIGHTEN, which is a color correcting powder. This powder is really great for all skin tones as it does not really provide too much coverage, instead it just evens out and brightens your skin tone. The left side is the ETHEREAL ROSE BAKED POWDER, which is a really nice pale pink brightener with a slight shimmer, which looked gorgeous in the sun. I have used this as both a blush and highlighter and it is really pretty as both. This compact is great because it is two different products for only $31. This compact is also great for travel because it has both a color corrector and blush in one compact.

LAURA GELLER’S BLUSH-n-BRIGHTEN is also a really pretty product. It is created through a really labor intensive process that includes pouring a multi-color infused liquid into a terracotta pan then baking it for 24 hours, during which it turns into a a rich creamy powder. The BLUSH-n-BRIGHTEN comes in 7 colors. I tried out the color PINK GRAPEFRUIT, which is a medium pink with pink glitter, but it is not overbearing at all, in fact it is pretty lovely. It is a really nice blush because it brightens your skin. This product can also be applied to the crease of your eye for a radiant look, according to LAURA GELLER. The BLUSH-n-BRIGHTEN is  $28.

The lip product that I received from LAURA GELLER is like nothing that I have ever tried before. The DREAM CREAMS LIP PALETTE is really unique. As you can see in the picture above, it is in a compact, and not only that but the lip colors are in a mousse form, which provides a lipstick-like color with the comfort of a lip gloss. Each palette comes with four different colors and the lip product smells  soo good, like vanilla and candy. I have the color SUNSWEPT, which has a dark coraly color, a medium pink color, a burgundy color and a bronze color. They are all really lovely, versatile and long-lasting. The palette also comes with an awesome lip brush! This lip brush is so awesome! The only lip brushes I have ever seen as either on a stick, or on a stick with a cap so that you can load it with color then cover it up and toss it in your bag when you are going out. This one is the best of both worlds. You actually take both of the ends and pull them apart, which lengthens the stick and makes a brush come out. There more you still have a long stick, which makes it easy to apply, as well as a cover, so you can pack it with color and then just take that with you when you are going out. The palette and brush are $23.50.

The final product that I tested was the EYE RIMZ DUO- Baked wet/dry eye accents in GOLD SPELL & POTION. Despite the fact that these shadows are powder eye shadows, they feel rich and almost creamy. I love using these both wet and dry. I use them dry on my lids and wet as liners.. and these are awesome liners since the colors are bold and have some glitter to them. GOLD SPELL is an olive-bronze with multi-color glitter and POTION is a dark purple with a slight metallic finish. Below I have included swatches of the eyeshadows dry, but the camera really did not pick up just how great these look in real life. The EYE RIMZ really do have good staying power and I have used these without an eyeshadow primer and they still did not fade much at all. The EYE RIMZ DUO also comes with a small eyeshadow brush. The quality of the brush is really nice but I would not use it to apply eyeshadow to my entire lid as it is just too small for that but it is great to apply eyeshadows as eyeliners with because it is small yet not too small so you will not just draw on a thin line of the shadow that you can barely see, but instead you will get a noticeable line that provides some real drama to your look. The EYE RIMZ DUO WITH BRUSH retails for $35.50.

Overall, I loved all of these products and I cannot wait to try more LAURA GELLER products, especially the LAURA GELLER LIP STRIP, LIP SPACKLE and CHEEKS SWEEP DUO!

Below is a swatch of the EYE RIMZ. The left swatch is of GOLD SPELL and the right swatch is of POTION.

Some of you might remember Hard Candy Cosmetics. They were really popular throughout the 1990s for their bold makeup and nail polish colors. This past fall, Hard Candy re-launched exclusively to Walmarts across the United States. Hard Candy make up is really high quality, despite the fact that they are inexpensive. They cost the same as drugstore makeup, but have the quality of high-end makeup brands, yet it maintains its playful and youthful feel. The packaging is really cool and has this awesome tattoo-ish print on it. I tested out four different products from Hard Candy: the KAL-EYE-DESCOPE BAKED EYESHADOW DUO, the BLUSH CRUSH BAKED BLUSH, the PLUMPING SERUM VOLUMIZING LIP GLOSS and the JUST NAILS NAIL COLOR.

I will admit that I did not have the highest expectations for the KAL-EYE-DESCOPE BAKED EYESHADOW DUO, just because usually drugstore makeup is not that pigmented. I tested out the KAL-EYE-DESCOPE BAKED EYESHADOW DUO in PICK UP LINE (photo above) and let me tell you, these two colors are so pigmented and rich, almost creamy. These shadows can be used both wet and dry. The left eyeshadow is a an ivory with a teal tint and light shimmer. The right eyeshadow is a vibrant teal with shimmer. The KAL-EYE-DESCOPE BAKED EYESHADOW DUO retails for $6.00 and comes in 14 amazing colors!

Lately, I have been loving blushes because I think blush looks so pretty in the sun. Hard Candy sent me their BLUSH CRUSH BAKED BLUSH in PIN UP. PIN UP is unlike any other color blush that I have. It is a light pink with a mauvey tint. The texture is really nice and rich. It feels like a $30.00 blush, not a $7.00 one from Walmart!  BLUSH CRUSH BAKED BLUSH comes in 3 other colors. I am dying to try HONEYMOON PEACH (a lovely peach) and BOMBSHELL (a dark brown, which would be great for contouring).  All of these blushes are marbleized which adds to their really cool look.

My favorite product that I got is the PLUMPING SERUM VOLUMIZING LIP GLOSS in GIRL NEXT DOOR, which is the perfect baby pink with slight shimmer. It is not super pigmented, but it is pretty pigmented for a lip gloss. It smells heavenly, like vanilla frosting. When it is applied, it does not burn or sting like a lot of lip plumpers do, but rather it is a slight minty tingle. It is really moisturizing and it plumps your lips a bit, definitely not too much to the point where it looks unnatural. The PLUMPING SERUM VOLUMIZING LIP GLOSS is $6.00 and comes in 6 colors. I really want to try it out in UPTOWN GIRL soon!

The final product is a nail polish, which I love because I paint my nails constantly. I tried the JUST NAILS NAIL COLOR in MR. WRONG, which is a purple with lots of finely milled gold shimmer. This polish is chip- resistant and lasts a long time, if you use an appropriate base and top coat. The nail polish bottle is adorable. It comes with a plastic ring, which is really cute. The one that comes with MR. WRONG is a purple plastic heart ring. The JUST NAILS NAIL COLOR retails for $5.00.

I love all of these of these products and am so excited that HARD CANDY is back and better than ever! I cannot wait to try one of HARD CANDY’S BALM GIRLS, which is a tinted lip balm, NOBODY’S PERFECT, which is a concealer palette in fair and SPOTLIGHTERS, an all over highlighters palette.

Check out HARD CANDY products at www.HARDCANDY.com and Walmarts nationwide!

SUE DEVITT (www.SUEDEVITTBEAUTY.com) is a really lovely brand. One of my favorite parts of the brand is that SUE DEVITT has inspired color stories, which are collections that are based on places in the world. For instance, there is one called “Enticed By India” and then there is another one called “Sunset on The Serengeti”.

I have one of the items from the “Enticed By India” color story and that is the EYE INTENSIFIER PENCIL in BANGALORE. EYE INTENSIFIER PENCILS are basically thicker eyeliner pencils. These are great for drawing on a thin line or a thick line, so they are really versatile. As you can see in the picture above, one side of the pencil is the actual eyeliner part and the other side is a smudger, which allows the EYE INTENSIFIER PENCIL to be used to make a smokey eye too. BANGALORE is a gorgeous slightly shimmery army green that looks beautiful on. It smudges really well but if you do not want to smudge it, it will stay put for a long time. The EYE INTENSIFIER PENCILS are $22 each and come is 13 truly gorgeous colors!

I also have the SUE DEVITT STARBRIGHTS LIP AND CHEEK GEL, which I am absolutely obsessed with! I love gel cosmetics because they just look so much more natural on your skin. The STARBRIGHTS LIP AND CHEEK GEL is a palette with a two lip glosses and one gel cheek product. I have the STARBRIGHTS LIP AND CHEEK GEL in CAPELL, which is a palette of purples. My favorite part of it is the cheek gel. It is really creamy and vibrant. Both of the lip glosses and the cheek gel are all very very pigmented. The STARBRIGHTS LIP AND CHEEK GEL is $35.

SUE DEVITT products are available at www.SUEDEVITTBEAUTY.com, www.QVC.com, Amazon and ULTA. Check them out, I highly recommend SUE DEVITT products!
